Activity Worksheets.

This activity helps instructors create a simple, effective checklist for setting and reinforcing expectations in a virtual classroom.

Instructors brainstorm at least five key classroom expectations that contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment. For each expectation, they outline how they will introduce it to students and reinforce it throughout the course. The final product is a practical checklist to track how expectations are communicated and upheld over time.

This activity helps instructors plan how to handle and resolve conflicts in a virtual classroom using effective strategies.

Instructors review a case study about a disagreement between two students and choose a conflict resolution approach to address the situation. They outline specific steps for applying the strategy and consider possible outcomes, including both benefits and challenges.

This activity helps instructors create a plan for recognizing and celebrating student achievements in a way that fosters motivation and a sense of belonging.

Instructors use the Large Cohort Student Tracker (listed next) to personalize their approach to student engagement and recognition. By adding each student’s name, recording meaningful questions to get to know them, and planning specific ways to celebrate their achievements, instructors ensure that every learner feels valued. This activity also helps track when and how each student has been recognized.

The goal of this handout is to help instructors create a structured plan for recognizing and celebrating student achievements in a meaningful way. By using the Large Cohort Student Tracker, instructors can make sure every learner feels seen, valued, and motivated throughout the course.

This activity helps instructors plan how to effectively work with Teaching Assistants (TAs) to manage a virtual classroom.

In this activity, instructors list three key responsibilities for TAs in a virtual classroom and describe how TAs can collaborate with both the instructor and students to manage these tasks. In addition, instructors create a communication plan to ensure smooth coordination and feedback between themselves and the TAs throughout the course.
